At BESN X Community, our mission is to empower the next generation through innovation, creativity, and inclusion—and this spring and summer, that mission came to life in unforgettable ways.
🎨 Artoon Art Show: Where Imagination Meets Impact
On May 3rd at the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, we held our first Artoon Artwork Spring Art Show, and it was nothing short of a creative triumph. Featuring cartoon-inspired visual art created by local youth and artists, the event blended artistic expression with community empowerment.
Guests explored a gallery full of bold, imaginative pieces—each telling a unique story. The evening also helped raise vital funds to expand our youth programs in visual arts, game development, and STEM. The turnout and support were a powerful reminder that Toledo stands behind its young creators.
🎮 Making Waves at MomoCon & the City of Toledo Summer Showcase
This season, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase our original indie games at MomoCon 2025 in Atlanta as part of the Indie Cluster Game Demo Showcase. Over 100+ attendees demoed our games, gave live feedback, and connected with our creative development team. The energy was electric! Young gamers, developers, and even industry pros were amazed to see games that fuse storytelling, STEM, and culture created by a community-rooted nonprofit.
Back in our hometown, we kept that momentum going with the City of Toledo Summer Showcase, where we brought our games directly to our community. Families, city leaders, and youth engaged with our projects, showing that innovation isn’t just something you find in Silicon Valley—it’s alive and thriving right here in Toledo.
🎒 Summer Adventure Backpack STEM Event: Learning, Magic & Fun
On May 29th, we teamed up with the Believe Center to launch our Summer Adventure Backpack STEM Event. Over 100 backpacks packed with STEM kits, Magic: The Gathering cards, and tickets to Toledo Mud Hens games and Imagination Station were distributed to local youth.
Thanks to our sponsors—Anthem, WGTE, City of Toledo, Buckeye Health Plan, Crystal Clear Communications, and more—this event brought learning, fun, and community connection to families across the city.
☀️ What’s Next? Our Summer Program Begins June 9th!
We're keeping the momentum going with our BESN X Summer Program, launching June 9th in partnership with the Art Tatum Zone. Youth will explore STEM, esports, visual arts, AI, and more in hands-on, future-focused experiences designed to inspire and empower.
