On August 9th, BESN X Community, in collaboration with The Believe Center, AWS, the City of Toledo, Great Faith Christian Center, and State Representative Derrek Merrin, hosted an unforgettable Gamers Give Back to School event. This initiative was a heartwarming success, bringing together our community to support and inspire the next generation as they gear up for the new school year.
The event was designed to not only provide essential school supplies but also to foster a sense of unity and excitement around education, gaming, and technology. Families and students from all over Toledo gathered at The Believe Center, where they were welcomed with open arms by volunteers and partners who are passionate about making a difference.
Highlights of the Day:
School Supply Distribution: Thanks to the generous support of our partners, hundreds of students walked away with backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, and other necessary supplies to kickstart their school year on the right foot.
Gaming Stations & Esports Demos: Attendees enjoyed interactive gaming stations where students could engage in friendly esports competitions and learn more about the growing opportunities in the gaming industry. AWS and BESN X Community provided insights into the world of game development, sparking curiosity and ambition among young gamers.
Inspirational Talks: Community leaders, including State Representative Derrek Merrin, shared empowering messages that emphasized the importance of education, perseverance, and pursuing one's passions. These talks resonated with both students and parents, leaving a lasting impact.
